Stetson was glad to support the successful project "My place in life", which took place at the aid association for children with cancer in Cologne and was accompanied by lots of sunshine and good mood. The idea of the project was created by a dynamic team, which studies at a vocational school for social pedagogy in Cologne. Lisa Hentz, Cathleen Drossmann, Janine Nassenstein, Yvonne Breuer, Leonie Rodemers and Christina Pfahl took care of the organisation and execution of this event, which addressed the siblings of children with cancer. Apart from the children with cancer, also their siblings experience a hard time. The motto of the project: Games and the design of chairs! This enabled creative self-expression and focused attention for the 8-10 children during the two project days.  Living up to its name "Rust'N Dust", the Hot Rod and motorbike race sponsored by Stetson in Teterow (Germany) was a fascinating spectacle. It was a great pleasure to experience this festival, as we never saw something suchlike before! Thanks to the Stetson Hot Rod team (Pssssst, we'll not reveal too much about that now, a report will follow!), we were introduced into the scene in a very friendly way. About 70 starters participated in the constancy race, trying their best to drive two tours in an equal time. The mountainous circle (see photo) was quite a challenge for some of the cars, but everybody mastered the route. The atmosphere was fabulous! All kinds of fantastic looking Motorbikes, Hot Rods and custom cars were all over the place. A lot of car loving people in a great mood, exchanging their experience and tips. A highlight: Stetson hats and caps were visible everywhere...

For our Stetson Spring/ Summer collection 2011, we have been inspired by the early years of Hot Rodding in the 40‘s and 50's. In order to realize the unique charm of the Hot Rod theme, we decided to work closely with the photographer David Biene, who had already published the Hot Rod photography book "Hopped Up". Further, we were actively supported by "To Texas", who designed our catalogue and helped our product design department. To create credible images, we took photos of people right from the scene who have a great passion for Hot Rods: Axel, member of the Stoker's Car Club and driver of a 1928 modified Model A Ford suited for his regular participation in dirt track racing...

Fitting to the theme "Hot Rod" for spring/summer 2011, Stetson will sponsor the famous "Rust'n Dust" and "Race 61". Classic Motorbikes, Hot Rods and custom cars, as well as top-class bands of the international Rockabilly-, Punk- and Rock'n'Roll scene, will create the right atmosphere for the races. Race 61 will take place from 25 - 27 June on an airfield in Finowfurt near Berlin, where the last Stetson shooting took place. The Highlight of the weekend: the 1/8 mile show race with vehicles up to construction year ‘61 (Further information here). Rust'n Dust, the "Vintage Dirt Track Race", will take place from 23 - 25 July in Teterow, Germany (For more information click here). The prices for the winners? Guess what...  

After supporting artists in genres like inter alia Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country and Swing, we are happy to discover the Pop sector! The newly featured musician: Famous German singer Mark Medlock! Since his victory of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" in 2007, the lively Stetson fan published 5 albums and 8 singles, of which several made it to No. 1 in the German charts. Mark sold 2.5 million records, for which he gained 11x gold and 4x platinum, as well as several awards, e.g. the "Comet" for "best artist of the year 2010". Yet still, he has remained a fun-loving and grateful person who likes to visit our team in our Stetson shop in Cologne, Mittelstraße 34! On the occasion of our STETSON ROCKS photo shooting, we were delighted to cooperate with our newly featured and beloved blues musician Henrik Freischlader. His expressive face and unique style gave the photos a special note! Our location: The cozy studio of Martin Meinschäfer in Arnsberg, Germany, where Henrik recorded his actual CD. In the middle of numerous instruments and a lot of equipment we certainly had a funny day - with a good-humored artist who was photographed while passionately making music! STETSON ROCKS Jazz musician and composer from Cologne Heiner Schmitz presented his new and extraordinary crossover project "ODYSSEY" for the first time in March. The talented Stetson fan showcases the popular Greek myth Odyssey, reverting to a combination of enjoyable narration, modern jazz, and sensational live visuals by a Visual-Jockey. Not only the story of the odyssey including its numerous stations appeals to the audience, but also the according metaphor that can easily be transferred into the modern world. The felicitous musical interpretation was carried out by the "Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra" and star saxophonist Dave Liebman, respectively Frederik Köster (winner of ´Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis 2009). A fabulous atmosphere was created by audio visual artist Omid Shirazi (VJ SmoKing) and the expressive voice of the famous Germany story-teller Christian Brückner.

Although the brand new styles of the Stetson Autumn/Winter collection 2010 are not available yet, we invite you to take a look behind the scenes of our shooting for the new collection, inspired by the theme "Colorado Snow Challenge"! We were happy to take photos of a great Ski Freeride team which loves headwear in the beautiful snow landscape of Austria! Our models: Axel Pielenz, former German Freestyle Champion and owner of a renowned skiing school, Catherina Strunz, a Freestyle coach, Jacob Svensson und Didier Ludovic, both former European and Worldcup Freeriders from Sweden and France. We had a nice time during the shooting, the team enjoyed particularly the snowball fight! To capture the best views of the snowy landscape, we inter alia shot high up in the mountains.

His unmistakable guitar playing style and his manifold voice have brought him to the top of the world's blues scene. Thanks to more than 600 concerts within the last 4 years - amongst others with blues legends like BB King, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Johnny Winter, Joe Bonamassa - Henrik was able to attract a great and faithful audience...
