The old and well-established Berlin cap manufactory Horst Zins was taken over from FWS in 1989. After Berlin became the capital city, the whole production moved to more modern, new rooms in Hartha/Saxony.

Regardless if classic products made of cashmere, fashion caps or outdoor products, our young FWS production team unfolds its entire know how in the unique diversity of products. Experienced cap makers and sewers build a young team including 25 staff members today. With selected foreign partners, which manufacture under the direction of FWS, even larger series are no problem.

Cap making is an old, traditional handcraft and even through the use of modern technology, it is not possible to mass produce. Experience and knowledge handed down through the years in combination with innovative prodution leads to the contemporary production of premium caps.

The models developed by the designers are worked on in digital contruction and gradation of the cut for sample creation and serial production. For optimal use of high quality materials, cross sections are developed as presettings for the cut.

The cut is the basis for the perfect use of fabrics and accuracy of fit. Fast running band knife cutting machines ensure optimal pattern cutting that is accurate to the millimetre. Highly concentrated working forms the condition for a smooth run in the sewing process.

Because of tiny parts and fast changing operations during the sewing process, only highly qualified sewers are suitable. Each FWS sewer is able to operate the whole array of special machines.
