
Safaris form the heart of the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Discover new animal habitats, delve into foreign cultures, imagine life in the glistening sun on the hot continent of Africa - Stetson interprets the „safari‰ inspiration and imagined African scenes into new styles. The designs, materials and colors reflect the safari environment: bleached by the sun, rugged, airy and light. Stetson offers vintage-washed cotton, cotton with parchment finish, dusty-like looks in cotton-viscose, antique goat leather, straw raffia in authentic beige, khaki, olive coloration and various earth tones. Safari also means the need for protection from the sun and dust: cotton with UV protection, hand-made protective glasses (goggles), long visor caps, neck protector caps and sun helmets complement outdoor forms and bucket hats with broad brims...
More than just a couple of tumble weeds have already traveled across the high plains of New Mexico since the Stetson trip to Santa Fe. Now the winners of the trip, Ingrid and Norbert from Germany, have shared their amazing travel experiences with us. The long journey of 24 hours and the exhausting entry procedures were quickly forgotten when Ingrid and Norbert arrived at "La Posada de Santa Fe". The hotel effortlessly lived up to its reputation of being one of the top ten hotels in the United States. Ingrid and Norbert were warmly welcomed at the large and well-groomed resort where many smaller, no more than two-story high Pueblo Adobe-style houses are grouped around the Victorian main building. The two described the room of their very personal Santa-Fe week as "super deluxe, enormous, king-size canopy bed, wooden beam ceiling, patio, awesome bathroom, gigantic flat screen TV...
